Only 45 minutes from South Garden lies Hemlock Valley Resort, a great local ski hill with an added bonus. Starting January 10th, ladies ski free every Thursday from 9am-4pm. If you are new to skiing or snowboarding, this is a great opportunity to try out something new with a low investment! If you’re an avid alpine enthusiast, it’s a always a great day when you ride for free! And if you’re wondering, “what’s the catch?”, don’t worry, there isn’t one. Just a great opportunity to experience some fun in the snow!
Hemlock also offers equipment rentals, a tube park, snowshoe treks, and more. There is something for everyone at this local gem.
So if you are visiting with us this winter, be sure to add this to your itinerary! The hot tub is always much more inviting after a day on the slopes.
South Garden Bed and Breakfast continues to grow and add for the enjoyment and comfort of our guests. Our newest addition is a beautiful cedar gazebo. Not only does it keep us all cool in the sun and dry in the rain, the gazebo is softly lit and radiantly heated if need be. Imagine the ambiance of a hot chocolate, rain, snow or sunshine, nestled in comfy chairs under the roof of the gazebo. Welcome to South Garden.
Last June our kids came home for the weekend to help their dad put up the Gazebo. This was their Father’s Day gift for him. Check out the assembly video for just a little peek into the working weekend. We had a blast. Thank you all for your great help.
The Canadian Hazelnut Farm offers a wide, scrumptiously delicious choice of every kind of Hazelnut you could imagine: sweet and sour, salty, chocolate coated, spicy, and more. I spent a little time there this morning taking some pictures, but really we have to be there to pick up on the awesome creativity displayed. Tantalize your taste buds.
Last Saturday, John and I drove out to Manning Park searching for Cambie Creek, a x-country ski trail. Just an hour from South Garden Bed and Breakfast, down Hwy 3 we happened upon the awesome spot. The skies were blue, the sun was shining, the snow was 6 ft deep and a pristine white. We doned our skis, gliding along, getting great exercise and fresh air. After a few falls, with soft landings, we had lots of good laughs. The beauty was appreciated, with an added bonus being able to ski without cost. Had a great day.
